Corona knows no god or goddess. It kills regardless of any person’s religion, caste or creed. It is a disease wreaking havoc in unimaginable ways. Yet, what is ironic is the way some select few humans use the situation to manipulate, cheat and deceive other humans to ensure their own survivability. One year since the onslaught, there is now the second wave of corona spread and the numbers have increased to colossal figures. India ranks number two in the world behind America and it has no impact on the Government in its seriousness to combat Corona Virus.   T here is a petition in the Supreme Court questions the constitutionality of the Farm Laws and, it is a topic worth discussing. Agriculture and matters related to trade and commerce form a part of the second list which is a subject matter of the state and yet the center had passed the laws on those very subjects. The center states that it had the power to make the law as per entry 33 of the third list, which is the concurrent list. However, this entry was introduced into the list for a temporary period, which for some reason did not find any need to be discontinued, and so it remained. Now, at this point in time, it is providing the center to make the activity of the state with regard to the same entry, redundant. Our country is quasi-federal, and giving the power of making laws on a subject to the hands of the Center, which the particular States would have more competency to make laws on, favors a form of government that is unitary. The PM-CARES fund is a charity fund launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi after the corona epidemic. It stands for Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund. It is a national fund dedicated to dealing with any form of emergency or suffering. It will be used to help combat coronavirus outbreaks and similar epidemics such as future conditions. The funds include voluntary contribution from the individuals and organisations. Also it would not get any budgetary support. The Prime Minister is the Chairperson of the PM CARES Fund and the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Home Affairs and the Minister of Finance, the Government of India are Trustees of the Fund.
